Refresher Training

What Is Refresher Training?

Most job roles within an organisation require either annual or periodic retraining. Security guarding is no exception. Most employees need to review important concepts now and again A refresher training course is designed to take learners back to basics so they can review fundamentals they may have forgotten or upskill on new information of which they may be unaware.

The CPS SIA Refresher Training is a one-day course developed by subject matter experts across the Security Industry to meet regulatory requirements, highlight safety issues and explain any changes in policies and procedures.

The course is designed to refresh the memory and make sure knowledge levels and behaviour are both up to date and compliant with current operating practices and legislation. The outcome of revisiting key principles of security guarding is to keep important knowledge fresh in employees’ minds as they undertake their daily work. More complex organisational procedures and processes are firmly embedded to ensure continuing compliance with updated health and safety regulations and company policy.

Define who needs training and how often

First establish the purpose of your refresher training and how frequently to run it. The approach that many organisations adopt is to run refresher training on an annual basis and vary the content that is covered annually. The frequency and content will be determined by the needs of your organisation, but annual refresher training is a good starting point. Alternatively, you may decide that different groups of employees need training in one subject, and others in another.

Training sessions can be held at our central Manchester training centre, at your premises or another UK based venue of your choice.

We offer traditional classroom-style training delivered by an experienced instructor. The main benefits of this method are interactivity between instructor and trainees and the ability to ask questions and tailor the structure of a course depending on the group being taught.
